Position Paper #2 In the short story “The Yellow Wallpaper” written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman we experience a story told from a first person point of view. We never learn the name of the narrator but we do know that she has a family and was or still is sick from some illness. Throughout the story we experience her life in the yellow wallpaper room through the journal entry she writes. This leads to the narrator to become an unreliable narrator, which is a narrator we can not trust because their account of events is flawed. One example of the narrator being unreliable is that she is mentally not stable. She becomes so fixated on the yellow wallpaper that all other notions going on become of no importance to her.
