I was always being fascinated by how the human brain works. Being one of the members of the Group of Eight universities, UNSW is definitely one of the best universities in Australia and world’s top university. As for the subject of Psychology, UNSW is ranked 16th according to the 2016 QS World Ranking and that really caught my attention. I truly believed and hoped that UNSW specifically the UNSW School of Psychology will provide me with greater and deeper understanding in the field of psychology. The School of Psychology at UNSW is quite simply the best in Australia. Psychology at UNSW achieved the maximum 5 rating in the 2010 Australian Research Council’s Excellence for Research in Australia (ERA) initiative. I love doing jobs that involve communicating with other people and encouraging other to pursue what is great in themselves. I believe every person possess their own special attributes and is uniquely beneficial to the community. Thus, this field of psychology provides me with the study of both natural science and social science. I am also fascinated by the idea of being a researcher. There are many questions in my mind especially regarding the subject of psychology and I am definitely looking forward to get all the answers of those questions in my studies. UNSW will definitely mould me to have the nature of being a great researcher. Nowadays, mental health issues are getting more severe and thus should never be neglected. Globally, one in four people will suffer from a mental disorder or condition, both in developed and developing countries. People tend to consider being mentally stress or having depression as a norm especially in a profession such as a physician. Mental health issues could also lead to other health issues such as stroke and disability and also severe social problems in the society. A degree in psychology will definitely provide me with many career opportunities in various field.
