This article begins with a discussion of the debate over gun control after the occurrence of multiple mass shootings. The debate includes a want for new restrictions on firearms. The United States is compared to Canada, Australia, Israel, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Japan. The percentage of the number of people who own guns is compared to all countries listed. This article is helpful to me because it helps me prove that the United States desperately needs to make changes to laws, more specifically, gun laws. This article helps me prove that the United States is the deadliest when it comes to guns. They are not as strict here as they are in other countries, which is why we have the highest number of deaths. This article allows me to prove that there are indeed issues with America’s gun control. Evidence: “Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children and young adults in the United States”(Masters). This makes for an understanding that gun violence is way out of hand and needs to be more focused on to help reduce the number of deaths in America. “Though Norway ranks fourteenth worldwide in gun ownership, according to Small Arms Survey, it placed near the bottom in gun homicide rates.
