In the making of the film Gattaca, the director Andrew Niccol uses the film technique of Camera Angles to represent the thesis of the movie. The definition of camera angles is the position of the camera to allow the viewer to understand the relationships between the characters can be found by looking on the internet or in a dictionary. The way that the director has manipulated the camera angle to represent the theme is unique compared to other movie directors. For example, at the beginning of the film, the director chooses to have large flakes of Vincent’s skin and hair falling to the floor. This scene shows how discrimination has changed from the looks of a person to the DNA of a person. A significant example to prove this theory is a quotation in the movie, “We now have discrimination down to a science.” Just to be treated as a regular human, Vincent has to scrub himself every morning and use Jerome’s DNA just to fit into the world that he lives on. …show more content…

Another example occurred when Vincent was only a child; he was born naturally, not scientifically like all the other babies., this means that his life will never be like all the other scientifically born children. At birth, Vincent is diagnosed with a heart disease, and because of that, his family has treated him differently than they treat Anton. For example, when Vincent fell, in this scene showed that Vincent fell less than a foot and how his mother came running over and fussing over it. The director decides to film this scene with the cameras low on the floor to signify that Vincent barely falls one foot, yet his mother came barging through the door to get to him.
