Bradbury does a nice job of predicting what the world would be like in the future. The society that he describes is, in many ways, like the one we living in now because of our overuse of technology and how we don't question things like authority or why we learn what we learn in school. Although the book and current day life are weirdly similar there are differences like the obvious fact that we don't burn books and firemen put out fires instead of start them. First, Today's society is similar to Fahrenheit 451 because of the use of our technology and how disconnected people are from the real world and others. How many times have you had dinner and people pulled out their phones and started texting or went to a restaurant and they had those electronic ordering devices at the table that also had games for kids. People don’t want to waste time anymore, we just want things done quicker and effortless. In the book mildred exclaims “It'll be even more fun when we can afford to have the fourth wall installed. How long you figure before we save up and get the fourth wall torn out and a wall-TV put in. It's only two thousand dollars (20)” this is exactly what's wrong with society, we sit our kids in front of the tv and they grow up thinking that is not okay to be bored and we have to be entertained …show more content…
I joined the CHANGE academy because i realized that the only time i got invested in school and cared was when i was in gifted and the CHANGE academy is similar, its project based learning and education devoted to challenging you.
