The utilitarian approach will provided an option that has the least harm to others while producing the greatest benefits for the greatest number. The right approach is someone rights based on their moral reasoning, and can have several different aspect such as the right of the truth or the right of privacy. Justice ethical method is about fairness between people. An example of justice is a child kicked out a window at school, so this child must now pay for a new window at that school. A virtue approach is according to our beliefs, character, and values. Some examples of virtues are honesty, courage, love, fairness, and self-control. The “New York Times Test” method is not a valid ethical method, because the media will not report the both sides …show more content…

I believe that the newspaper companies should ethically report just facts instead of viewpoints. Moreover, when the media report these stories then they are condemning these bad behaviors. For example, Michael Brown just robbed a store and tried to steal the police officer’s gun prior to the shooting. However, what if Michael Brown got the police officer’s gun and shot one of the neighbors with that gun, then would it still have been the police officer’s fault. If the minimum wage paper was the front-page article of the newspaper, then it might have some positive and negative views. There are people that will read the article and support the increase of minimum wage. There will still people that is against raising minimum wage, so they will have a negative view about the article. However, people need to start to do their own researching regarding the minimum wage laws and the cost of living. I believe that most of my friends and family would be proud of me for standing up for this issue, while some of them would like to argue that the cost of living would just keep going up if the minimum wages were increased. My parents have always taught me to stand up for my values and beliefs, but to also listen and respect other people’s values and
