V for Vendetta Argumentative Analysis V for Vendetta stresses how one person can change a whole country and effect all of the citizens of the country. This is an extremely important topic because today there are many tyrant countries that act similar to the fictional English government in the movie. The Government’s argument to the citizens is ineffective for multiple reasons, such as the fact that they lost trust in their citizens and the lost to V in the end. The Government is very selective with the evidence they portray to the citizens and hide a lot from their citizens. The strength of the evidence throughout the film decreases, which is proven through the fact that many citizens stop believing the news reports the government is putting out. The evidence put forth by the government through the news station applies to everyone in the country watching the show. Huge pieces of evidences are ignored by the government. The government gives out the information regarding the attacks on the school through biochemical weapons, this convinces the citizens to vote for Adam Sutler. The last piece given out by the government is the national address to the citizens on November 4th regarding V. The government uses very professional yet harsh rhetoric when speaking to the public. The government uses their rhetoric to scare the people and enlighten the people with the information they want them to know. The tone used by the people in the government is very strong and professional causing the people to listen to the person speaking intensely. The subject of the government’s speeches usually have to do with current events or the threat of V. Towards the end of the film the tone and diction of the government starts to discourage the citizens and that causes many citizens to take side with
