I feel vaccinations are very important for maintaining health, preventing the spread of whatever is going around, and are for the immune system’s ability to fight it. While maintaining health and the benefit of the immune system are similar, I assure you it will all make sense later. For now I truly wish you take the time to read this. I hope you find it very informative. First, vaccinations are important for maintaining your body’s overall health. The reason for this is that your body is already exposed to whatever is going around, therefor increasing your chance of not experiencing the full impact of it. The flu virus can spread through germs which can spread in a number of ways. This increases its ability to spread from one to another, keeping it alive and thriving. A vaccination would make your body familiar and in the chance that you do get it, it won’t be as bad and or last as long. This is important because time is something the virus needs because it takes time for it to set in and it takes time for it to spread. Last, the immune system’s ability to fight it. If you get the flu and you aren’t vaccinated, your immune system has to basically think on the fly. It has to try to figure out how to kill this before it kills you. Exposing it to the immune system while it’s dead gives the immune system the time it needs to figure out how to kill it without the chance of it killing you. When polio was an issue around the 1950s, Jonas Salk though of exposing the immune system to dead cells of it in order to decrease the number of polio cases. He tested it on his family and then different people and it did lower the number of cases. That is why vaccinations are important. They keep you and everyone around you healthy. I do hope I was able to explain why the immune system’s ability to fight was separate from the maintenance of your health in a coherent manner. I also hope you take this letter into
