As the Revolutionary War went on, the difficulties faced by colonists army was brutal, if not fatal. Through Valley Forge, Washington's great speech and John Andrews letter to his brother, Our nation's army prevailed with all the hardships this war brought us. Whether it was the frostbitten feet of soldiers, the questionable work load to reward ratio , or the feeling of not being able to walk another step, we overcome it.

In John Brooks’s Writing he describes the life of an american soldier during the Revolutionary War. He talks about the lack of supply for soldiers and their suffering just to carry on let alone battle. “ For a week past we have had snow, and as cold weather as i almost ever knew at home. The portrayal of american troops was very wrong and insensitive to the fact that these men are putting their lives at risk for the country. “ And let me conjure you, in the name of our common Country, as you value your own sacred honor, as you respect the rights of humanity, and as you regard the Military and National character of America, to express your utmost horror and detestation of the Man who wickedly attempts to open the floodGates of Civil discord, and deluge our rising Empire in Blood. He gives encouragement to the soldiers, and tells them to not listen to what's being said about them because what they're doing is amazing and anything that's been said towards them that's against what they've done should be discarded.
