Being a leader comes natural to me. I have been volunteering since the young age of three alongside my parents in our home church and with our family. If we aren’t serving in some capacity at church or helping family we are helping in our community.
One leadership role is very special to me though and that is being a Squad Leader in the Round Rock High School Band. This organization has about three hundred and fifty students in it and to become a squad leader, you must submit an application, a resume and prove you are in good standing with your grades and school attendance. In addition, there is an interview process by the band directors and you must also have teacher recommendations. This leadership role requires being an outstanding role model for my peers, helping the band directors and others when needed and representing the organization wherever I go.
As a section leader, it is my responsibility to lead a group of students and work with them teaching them be the best marchers they could be so that they could fulfill their goal of being in one of the best marching bands in Texas!

It put a smile on my face to know that I had helped him reach his goal of being in the top marching band his freshman
