Imagine you're in the year 1398, you are painting a picture but it looks all the same as the other ones. You look over at your friends and something makes them stand out. The strokes look different and there is a whole other perspective of the world we thought we knew. During the years 1300-1650 was when the Renaissance took place. The Renaissance was a period of big change when art and literature became popular and many advances were made.
Religion. Most, if not all art from that time had to do with God. There was either a hidden meaning about God, or the focus was just there. But during the Renaissance, all that changed. People began to view art in different ways.
Art is not nearly as well rounded nowadays as it was in the renaissance. For example the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da vinci was an exceptional painting that had tons of detail such as the the ripples in her sleeves and the curls in her hair( doc. a). This painting shows that this was a happy point in time because she is smiling in the portrait(doc. a).
In the Renaissance, the world changed forever. New thinking about humans being the most significant rather than religious figures would have been unheard of in the Middle Ages, but now in this new period, the world has begun to accept this. These new ideas led to them being present in art, leading to a new beginning for art. In “The Last Days of the Renaissance & The March to Modernity” by Theodore Rabb, he discovers that what occurred in the Renaissance changed art permanently. He said, “The new artistic styles would echo the broader movements and interests of the new age ....
Without the renaissance people today would not be as highly educated and would be less open-minded. In the Renaissance man’ s view of man changed to one that views itself as perfect, as seen in the art, literature, and scientific discoveries. If the Renaissance was to be known only for one thing it would be art.
In the time of the Middle Ages, they focused on the religious value of art, “The [clearest] evidence of the break with medieval culture comes from the visual arts.” (DocA) a popular painting of this time by Duccio Di Bouninsegna’s shows The Mother Mary with the baby Jesus on her lap. This painting was two-dimensional and had very little creativity, the painting mostly didn’t make people feel anything only had religious value. While during the Renaissance they focused on making you feel stronger feelings “[It] was the essence of the Renaissance .... One begins to know the names of the artists ... feel stronger emotions in the subjects ... ... see well-defined landscapes, natural folds in drapery, and three-dimensional figures” (Doc A).
From the fifteenth century to the seventeenth centuries society experienced a shift from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. During this time Europe underwent many significant changes that were often expressed through the historical art. Passionate and experienced artists used their skills to create masterpieces that would highlighted these changes and led to the success of their careers. During this shift Medieval point of views began to fade away and a new Era full of new perspectives began to form. The Renaissance was known by many as the rebirth of the humanist culture.
The Renaissance was a period in time where everything started to change after the middle ages. During this historical period humans stared evolving by becoming smarter and inventing useful recourses that have changed the world. The renaissance was a life changing period which brought more joy to the world after conquering the dark ages. The Renaissance changed man’s view on the world by using Art, Science and Literature to make humans brighter and because of the rapid information they were gaining. Art during the Renaissance grew rapidly because of Leonardo Da Vici, and Michelangelo who changed the way people painted and drew by creating strategies which made art more interesting.

The reasoning behind why I chose to write about this topic is because I feel like it is a sculpture that speaks volumes to the culture and time and what was thought of women in the Paleolithic time. The created cover of antiquity gives the fourteenth-century poet license to pay close attention to form, the delight of the image, a depth we can see in the description of the statue of Venus in the Knight 's Tale. A remarkable feature of this description is its three-dimensionality, a particular attention to extremities, props and supports that draws the attention away from the centre to the margins, a technique that allows the statue to be viewed as a carved and painted sculpture. From the fragment below, we can see how the narrator goes on with the support and moves smoothly downwards and then up, but not right through the centre; rather, through the margins: Repeated references to the action of sight in this ekphrasis also switch on the sensory. With the line of sight located in the double position as that which can simply record with delight, the action of a gaze also appears to bring the statue almost to life. 'Glorious for to se ' in the first line of the description disrupts the declarative statement on the statue 's nudity and its pleasure, though the poet willingly focuses on covering up the exposure.
Between the 14th and 16th century, Italy went through what they termed as Renaissance which was characterized by several changes in the country. As described in Italy, Renaissance means rebirth or rebuilding of a given societal role. The transition of the country came from the medieval to the early European period where different normal operations of the society were greatly altered. Before the rebirth process began, the Italians had the desire to rebuild some of their greatest being thus the creation of the Renaissance process. As a result of the process, Italy had several achievements regarding science, literature, philosophy, music and arts.
This week, we are going on a field trip to Rome where we will see a lot of ar masterpieces including architecture, painting, and sculpture. Before we explore some of the world’s best art, music, and theater in Rome, I would like to remind you that we are going to experience them as a Christian. Therefore, let us take some time to reflect and think on the importance of the arts to Christian and the significance of appreciating the arts. The Renaissance is one of the most fruitful periods marked by the convergence of a classical and humanism manifestation with a high religious content in the art, and at the same time a well diversity in science, music and philosophy. One of the most popular painting in the Renaissance and one of my favorite is the ‘Last Supper’ of Leonardo Da Vinci that was painted from 1495 to 1498 in the dining hall of the Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie
