Victor travels to a small island to begin his research in order to create a female for the creature. Eventually, Victor fears that the creature will reproduce with his new mate infesting the world. Therefore , he destroys the new creature before he finishes stating that “Even if they were to leave Europe, and inhabit the deserts of the new world, yet one of the first results of those sympathies for which the daemon thirsted would be children, and a race of devils would be propagated upon the earth” trying to justify his actions. Even though, the creature promised that he will stop his crimes(Curran). Victor’s actions just makes the creature more miserable and resentful. Therefore, the creature seeks for revenge against his creator. The creature murders Victor’s wife just like Victor killed his mate. In consequence of this, Victor starts to pursuing him in order to kill him. However, the creature easily escapes from him. The creature explains why his actions towards his creator, “I have devoted my creator, the select specimen of all that is worthy of love and admiration among men, to misery; I have pursued him even to that irremediable ruin. There he lies, white and cold in death. You hate me; but your abhorrence cannot equal that with which I regard myself”(Shelley, 263). However, the creature is sad about the event contrary to what someone would expect. He demonstrates once again that deep inside he didn’t wanted anything of this to happen because he was just looking for his own happiness. The creature having accomplish his goal, " But soon, he cried, with sad and solemn enthusiasm, I shall die, and what I now feel be no longer felt. Soon these burning miseries will be extinct. I shall ascend my funeral pile triumphantly, and exult in the agony of the torturing flames.”(Shelley,270
