Victorian Essay The history of the Victorian Era has a lot to do with social class. The social classes were the rich or upper class. They were treated very well. The second social class was middle class. They had enough food to last the day, but they weren’t as well off as the upper class. The last, and most definitely considered least in the Victorian Era, is the lower class or the poor. This class was not treated well at all, they were considered the worst of the worst. In this essay, I will talk about all of these social classes and how they play a part in the history of the Victorian Era.

The upper class or rich class was very well off. They usually had very large houses/mansions. They had very fancy outfits and accessories. They would like to show off to other people in the upper class by having expensive clothing and decorations in the house. You were also born into your social class, your could only move up if you worked hard enough or had enough money. Your social class decided your jobs, your education, how much money you made, and your social life. Upper/rich class didn’t have to work much because they employed the middle class. Common jobs for the upper class were owning companies, working in the government, or politics. The middle class were decently off, they still had to work for their things and they had a small amount of money left over, usually. They were usually employed by the upper class or were farmers. The lower/poor class did not do too well. They often had jobs as servants or were workers on farms. The women would have to do all the housework while the men tried to earn enough money to feed their family.
