Through Victor's absence and abandonment of his creation, he guarantees the creature a life without love, compassion, or direction, showing that he is the true monster. Frankenstein’s focus on the possibility of creating life rather than its morality proves fatal. His creation attempts to learn from and contribute to society, until ultimately rejected. The actions of the creature are a direct result of its creators shortcomings/failures. When asked to create another being as a companion for the creature, he initially agrees under the condition that both creatures would never again make contact with humanity. Frankenstein questions whether the old creation will have any control over the new, then destroys his work and after realizing there was no guarantee. After such events, the creature promises revenge on Victors, vowing to “hqvchqjwe”. The vow is later fulfilled, proving that his actions have led to his own downfall. A need for companionship and a desire for revenge drives the creature. It’s rejected by society as well as its creator, leaving it to lash out in anger and violence. The wretch kills Victor's loved ones and attempts to get revenge, and its actions are ultimately evil. However, the creature also shows signs of compassion and kindness, and its efforts have both positive and negative consequences. It takes advantage of its superhuman strength to ultimately strangle William out of anger and pure frustration, as the creation learns that he is related to Victor Frankenstein. The creation made it known that he was strictly longing for revenge against Frankenstein, for he is the abandoner. The creation is a figure of loneliness and desires equality. The creature is betrayed after attempting to rescue a drowning female, and is accordingly shot by an observing figure as a result of its selfless deeds. The being is outraged with his punishment for his benevolence, and through this it sequentially “...vowed eternal hatred and vengeance to all mankind”
