I chose Project 1: Video/DVD Analysis to reflect on and think about all the steps and ways that I had approach in project one. While, I was working on this project, I think my academic skills have improved a lot through using sociological skills. I learned a lot of things about social class and the conflicts between the rich and the poor. Also, I had learned people would be rank or consider into a different group or level of the social classes based on their wealth and power, but people could increase their social status of the social class and also drop to the bottom of the social status of the social class. Moreover, I am able to distinguish the meaning and able to used it on assignment that I working on. All of them have different opinions and views about social classes. First, Auguste Comte’s view is that if we could measure our social life and understand our living of what are we doing, then we will be successful. Next, Karl Marx developed a theory that is called Marxist theory and stated that if a society has social class, then the society will have a lot of conflicts. Lastly, the rich would become richer and the poor would become poorer which makes our society to occur a lot of conflicts and unequal treatment or approach. Also, there Émile Durkheim’s idea about a society should have division of labor that can help the economic gross. Emile Durkheim thinks that the different level of social class should have same amount of the people, if we want to our society become stable. All those three sociology ideas were important to our society and I were able to used them on the assignment.
