For starters, I’ll admit I dropped the ball with my speech. I have trouble remembering what happened after my introduction. I remember standing there, forcing myself to get through the speech as I wasn't feeling well, but no excuses, it’s over and done with. Since I recalled little from my speech, I asked three of my peers to help me with my evaluation. The first girl I asked wasn't in the classroom at the time of my speech. A few days later, I had asked two other girls from the class to provide feedback and according to both girls, for the most part, I did fine. However, they took notice when I paused and said, I needed water towards the end of the speech. In the organization of my speech, the central and main points were clear. The main point was to persuade and motivate the audience that using video games in schools or higher institutions can help build teamwork, foster decisions, critical and strategic skills useful in schools, work, and life. In mentioning my direct experience with video games, I created credibility. I used transition words to link paragraphs from one idea to the next, this helps the audience follow the speech in a logical order. The content of my speech was solid, I did well on supporting my ideas with evidence. During my speech, I referenced citations to support the main points of the speech and in addition, followed the motivational speech guideline. I had a set of flashcards which contained an outline of my speech including keywords, it was my goal to use them effectively.
