Video games are a worldwide entertainment phenomena that is growing at an extremely prolific rate. According to Spil games state of the industry report the number of gamers is expected to exceed 1.9 billion players worldwide. (quote) Though video gaming wasn’t always as popular as it is now, and in fact, a large driving factor to its rise to fame was the pivotal Japanese influence forever changing the fledgling industries earliest years. This influence helped to cement a foothold for Japanese culture during a time, where not much of Japans entertainment had caught on in America. Video games may have started out as Western idea, Japanese innovation, creativity, and unique styling had paramount effects on one of the world’s most prominent pass times.
