Video- Background Information
Video- State location of the climate type
Raj- We are doing the Arctic ice cap for our climate change project.
Raj- Here are some background information to help you understand more about the Arctic. The arctic is located above the Arctic Circle or north of the 65 degrees north latitude of the equator. It is in the northern polar regions, the Arctic itself is not a continent but it contain lands in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Video-Average temperature throughout the year.
Raj- The average temperature during the winter is -40 F and is under 50 F during the summer.
Video-Typical weather patterns.
Raj- Weather patterns. Near the ocean, the winters are stormy and wet, the summers are cool and cloudy.

Video- Effects of Global Warming and Climate Change
Kali- I will be talking about the Effects of global warming and climate change.
Video- Changing weather patterns
Kali- The weather patterns in the Arctic less stable and predictable, which is affected by the snow and sea ice.
Video-Changing temperatures.
Kali- The temperature in the Arctic continues to get warmer and during the last 30 years, the Arctic region has warmed more than other region in the world and the arctic sea ice cover has declined 30%. In the first half of 2010, air temperature in the Arctic were 7° F (4° C) warmer than in 1968 to 1996, according to NOAA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric.
Kali- If in 30 years the arctic loses 30% of sea ice cover, than every year, we lose 1% of sea ice cover.
Kali-In this chart, you can see that since 1968 through 2007 that there is a major decrease in the ice cover.
Video-Potential long term environmental effects.
Kali- Also, the Arctic ocean ecosystem will be mainly affected by global warming.
Kali- Animals affected by global warming in the Arctic are polar bear, walrus, seabirds, and

My people has declined 15% in both average weight and number of cubs born between 1981 and 1998. Increased frequency and intensity of spring rain causes my den to collapse, resulting in the death of my mother and sibling.
Video- Ice dependent seals
Raj- ice-dependent seals such as the ringed seal, ribbon seal, and the beard seal, are very vulnerable to the decline of sea ice. Seals nurse their pup on sea ice, rest on it, and is a place where killer whales won't be able to eat them.
Video-Walrus
Raj- Walrus lives near the coast where it is most productive. As the sea ice melts farther from the shore line, the marine system will lose its most productive areas. Walrus lives in ice edges for resting and feeding. Walrus eats clams and shellfish on continental shelves as the bottom feeders. If the ifec edge retreats from the shelves to deeper areas, there won't be easy to get clams and shellfish, making travel longer distance.
Video- Potential Solutions
Noah- I will be talking about potential solutions to global warming.
Video- What solutions are currently being done to help your group’s specific climate
