The Vietnam War is arguably the most traumatic and well-known war happening after the infamous World War I and World War II. It occurred during the 1960s and caused a big controversy between Americans, Vietnamese, Chinese and South Koreans. Because of the big impact it made on Americans and countries, it inspired a British heavy metal Rock band call the Black Sabbath to create a song called the “War Pigs”, which is an anti-war song and speaks about conflict and the insanity of those who make war without regard to the powerless people who are sent to perish. It’s obvious they do not want to do die and they will send the poorest of the poor if that what it takes to remain alive. It seems quite astounding that it’s not these same people involved that go out to fight it, but rather the poorer, apparently nonessential portion of the population does so. Black Sabbath written about this issue in the second verse which states “Politicians hide themselves away, they only started the war. Why should they go out to fight? They leave that all to the poor! Yeah!”. However, the song gained so much attention that even political people responded to their message. Not many had seen it in that way until this song was produced. The lyrics in the song “War Pigs” made veterans and enlisted people in the military made a realization if the government even truly care about their lives. Soldier’s lives should be as important as politicians and the leaders of America because at the end of the day we are all the same. The “poor” aka soldiers enlist into the military because they believe in America and want to fight for a great country and not to be sent into battles that they cannot come up against with. These are thousands of humans live being taken away in just seconds because the government decides to have disagreements with our countries.
