The GI Bill made voluntary enlistment rise with the idea of free college. The bill was not limited to just college and a house, they were also allowed to buy a farm if going to college did not suit them. The politics that followed the war had its ups and downs. In the Great War, many soldiers were losing their lives in the field. The alliance that were in the war, were ultimately fighting for the desire of power. Countries like Germany and Austria-Hungary that were a part of the war wanted to be in control of as much as they could. This caused a lot of tension with the Triple Entente, which was an alliance between France, Great Britain, and Russia. With all them waiting to be the best of the best, Austria-Hungary and Germany had to up their military and have their people ready to fight any war.

For a country to be a liberal democracy it must be “fair and free”, and must have “competitive elections between multiple distinct political parties.” A liberal democracy also protects “human rights, civil rights, civil liberties, and political freedoms for all people.” Mexico has gone through some significant changes; economically, socially and politically but not enough to be considered a liberal democracy.
