Although not famous during his life, the now infamous Vincent Van Gogh gained popularity by creating Post-Impressionist artwork. A few of his most famous paintings include, Café Terrace on the Place du Forum, Starry Night, Mulberry Tree, the Vase with Twelve Sunflowers, and the Wheat with Cypresses. Although he has many paintings and drawings out, he did not start painting until 1880, which was ten years before his death.

Throughout this research I learned so much more about him, that I was never taught in school or that I did not know. He grew up very poor and worked his whole life to get money for his family. When his mental health started to decline, his brother paid Gaugin, so he had someone to watch him. They eventually became roommates, but as the days went on, their fighting just got really intense, so Guanin decided to leave. On that same night Van Gough "went to the local brothel and paid for a prostitute named Rachel, with blood pouring from his hand, he offered her his ear and asked her to keep this object carefully. People did not know what he would do, so "after the people of Arles signed a petition saying he was dangerous"(), he became more depress and admitted himself back to the hospital at Saint-Paul-de- Mausole. Vincent Van Gogh shot himself in France in July of 1990. After he died, about a half year later, his brother Theo died after becoming ill and then Theo's wife decided to sell Vincent van Gogh's painting.
