There were many people who were considered “Impressionists”. For example like Vincent Willem Van Gogh. He created the very popular art painting known as the “Starry Night”. Vincent Willem Van Gogh was a dutch artist whom was born on March 30th, 1853. Gogh is one of the most known famous impressionists artist in the history of impressionists. Gogh managed to create over 2,100 artworks within a decade. A lot of his paintings were oil paintings. All of his artworks were of landscapes, still life, portraits and self portraits. South of France in 1888. Gogh managed to add many new things into his new style of art. Gogh had suffered from psychotic episodes and many delusions. Gogh was worried about his own mental health he knew he wasn’t very stable during this period of his life. Though he knew he wasn’t stable he always found a way to neglect his physical health. He never ate right and he was a very heavy drinker. Gogh spent time in and out of psychiatric hospitals. When he got out of one of the many hospitals he ended up moving to Auberge Ravoux in Auvers-sur-Oise near Paris. Gogh had a doctor whom helped him at home. Gogh’s doctor was Paul Gachet. Gogh’s depression never actually went away, his depression actually only got worse as time went on. On the day of July 27th, 1890 Van Gogh shot himself in the mid chest with a revolver. Gogh didn’t die right away but he did end up dying two days later from the injuries he suffered. During the time Gogh was alive and present most people looked at Gogh as a madman, a failure, and unsuccesful. Gogh didn’t become famous or well known until after his suicide.
