Instead of a scene, we did an entire act. In the act, Duke Orsino ends up seeing Cesario dressed up as Viola and finds her revoltingly hideous. After this, he refuses her. Viola is so angry from this rejection that she vows to go murdering beautiful people in the land of Illyria. This causes Duke Orsino to ban her from Illyria. Viola goes to her brother Sebastian to tell him the recent events. Sebastian refuses to let his sister go alone and opts to go with her. He talks to Olivia who chooses to stay in Illyria because it is where her brother died. Left with a conflicting decision, Sebastian chooses his sister over Olivia and both of them, offended, pretend they don’t love each other anymore. However, he didn’t see Cesario dressed as a girl in the actual play. So a good twist would be that once he saw her as a girl, he didn’t like her. That’s the inciting incident and the other characters are also involved as the story progresses. Another loose end was what happened to Malvolio. At the end of the play, he walks out bitterly and that was the last that was heard of him. It would make sense that if he wanted revenge. This act could also be extended to create a more in depth plot. For example, Viola, Malvolio, and Sebastian all want revenge so a detailed explanation can go into how they achieved it. Furthermore, Olivia resents Duke Orsino and is planning to get revenge on him and she has to be able to do it behind everyone else’s back. Moreover, Olivia hasn’t done anything that would cause Malvolio, Viola, or Sebastian to want revenge on her. And she still loves Sebastian. However, now that she is married to Duke Orsino, do they still want revenge on her? Will she assist them to get their revenge or eventually get closer to Duke Orsino and help him in the ends? Also, nothing was said about Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, Feste, and Maria in the end, so do they get punished for tricking
