Viola and Todd’s lives are constantly being flipped and turned with every move they make. During Viola’s escape from New Prentisstown she was almost blown up in another one of The Answers bombs. She barely made it out of the way with the help of Mistress Coyle pushing her clear of harm. Now Viola is stuck in the camp of The Answer with, ironically, nobody giving her any answers to her questions. Todd isn’t fairing too well either. After hearing that Viola ran away without him, he’s had many unanswered questions. Now he’s stressed with not only Viola’s disappearance, but the responsibility of The Spackle too. One rainy day he cracks and attacks a Spackle, killing him in the process. In this journal I will be clarifying why The Answer won’t answer any of Violas questions, Predicting how Viola will change during her stay at the camp, and evaluating Todd’s attack and unplanned murder of the Spackle. The first reason I think she will change is because since she arrived she has been more hostile and sharp-tongued towards almost everyone. Her temper has been heightened because of being held in the camp and not knowing anything about the area, group that she’s now living with, or Todd. Another reason that I think she will change is because of a boy in the camp with her. He is around her age, blonde haired, and very kind to Viola. She becomes nervous and sometimes embarrassed around him. A few times she’s caught herself blushing at the thought of him. Most know how a crush can make us feel or act and I think that will alter some of her decision making during her time at the camp. Because of these reasons, I think that Viola will change to be more of a quick-tempered person and someone new will become important to her to impact her
