Violence is always an eye catcher to younger audiences but it is also used to emphasize a meaning in a story. In the book Homecoming by Kass Morgan the reader is presented with several scenes of intense violence. These passages are used to emphasize the relationships between the characters and advance the plot. The viciousness in Homecoming is planned and predictable, however, the way it is applied, it is extremely erratic.
