Ever so often we are faced with the horrendous acts humankind is capable of. The Lord of the Flies written by William Golding is a fictional book about a group of british school boys who get stranded on an island which showcases the savagery we are all capable of. They lose their civility and become savages, and as a result some die such as Simon, Piggy and the boy with the birthmark. Until they are saved at last by a naval officer. All in all Ralph’s poor leadership and Jack’s unrestrained brutality were the ultimate reason for the islands demise.

More specifically, it is about Ralph’s struggles to decide between being a savage or maintaining stability. William Golding’s novel, Lord of the Flies brings the situation to reality - depicting a group of schoolboys who find themselves stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash and must learn how to survive without any adults. The characters must learn how to make decisions among themselves on an island where they do not have the help of anyone but themselves. Throughout the novel, Golding employs fire, a conch, and a beast in the story to provoke the message of control to the reader.

In the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding tells all about this. When many boys are stuck on an island they have to try and fight for their lives. Sometimes the characters disagree because they all have different opinions. Being isolated on an island causes them to fight and not get along with each other because of the decisions that are made.

How are Violent Events in Lord of the Flies important to the novel? Lord of the Flies is a novel by William Golding that relies on the theme of violence to carry the events forward in the story. There are many different reasons why this theme is important as it mainly illustrates the boys' change of behaviour on the island that they are stuck on due to the result of a crash landing of a plane. One factor of importance that the violent events detail is the change of intention that the boys on the island carry to such actions.
Throughout the novel the boys demonstrate ruthlessness, however their lack of remorse for their ruthless actions conveys an even stronger sense of loss of identity. With the help of the hunters, Jack kills the first pig on the island. When they carry the gutted pig back to Ralph and the others, Jack holds in his excitement. “He noticed blood on his hands and grimaced distastefully, looked for something on which to clean them, then wiped them on his shorts and laughed” (Golding 69). Jack demonstrates no sign of guilt for touchering and killing this innocent pig.
The Lord of the Flies talks these lines to Simon in Chapter 8, upon Simon's vision in the meadow. These words affirm Simon's theory in Chapter 5 that maybe the beast is just the young men themselves. This thought of the horrible behavior on the island being inside the young men is a major component to the novel's investigation of inborn human brutality. The Lord of the Flies distinguishes itself as the brute and recognizes to Simon that it exists inside every single individual: "You knew, didn’t you? I'm a part of you?"
Lord of the Flies is a passage into the very existence of humanity. The very last part of the book is full of rage and violence. The violence could be blamed on the lack of vital nutrients the boys where facing but more likely the motives of Jack and his party is related to the emotional impact of their stay on the island. The impact of the island and lack of adults lent to the overall outcome of their stay. Starting out the group of boys were scattered around the island and in tiny huddles of boys.
The Violence Within Us Throughout recorded history, human nature suggests that people should thrive to study and interrogate one another for understanding. A wild idea that “The human brain could never comprehend its own workings, let alone understand its own understanding” corrupted the theory (The Onion). In the Lord of the Flies, William Golding is able to portray this ideology through a group of young boys who are castaways on an island. Through many struggles and tribulations, they learn the importance of maintaining a proper society and the effects of its failure.
