Juvenille crime is more common than ever. Violent crimes such as murder is happening more than you know. In the book, Lord of the Flies, the boys showed violence from the very first chapter. Violence and tension began with Ralph and the chiorboy arguing over who should be leader, once Ralph was chosen over Jack. Within this book, the boys lose a sense of consequence by giving into their animal nature. Even in a book, it is hard to think of juvenille's being able to commit murder like in chapter nine, "A View of Death." In this chapter, Simon is murdered in a brutal, animalistic manor. Katelynn Arnold, 9, had her life taken by her half-brother,14. Surles is the sheriff who was assighned this case. Surles said the little girl was apparently riding her bicycle when her half brother called her over near a tree. Katelynn was fostered by her aunt and uncle. Her aunt did not notice was missing until after 7 p.m., the sheriff said. The aunt drove around looking for the girl for about 45 minutes before finding her hanging from the tree and calling deputies, Surles said. Katelynn's feet were touching the ground. The rope used in the savage hanging was tied to a limb, using a simple figure-8 knot then tied to her neck. The boy was said to have motive, but it was not formally release. The 14- year old boy was arrested around 2-3 a.m. Juvenille's are being held more accoutable for their crimes. Now it's common to trial them as adults depending on the severity of their crimes. In Lord of the Flies, the vengefal crowd never suffered for their own crime. Where as Katelynn recieved her justice unlike Simon. The thing that can relate both of these horrific crimes is the boys as well as Katelynn's half- brother, they all have to learn how to live with the memory of the last cry of their victims. Which is proven to be less difficult for the boys, as they take Piggy's life in a riot
