With a strong appreciation and admiration for nature, it has been my main focus on portraying my exact vision and perception of it through my eyes. Recently the capturing of natural beauty has formed the foundation of my inspiration. In this day and age technology has a major impact on the world and on ourselves. With it having such a large impact on our lives as people the majority tend be get utterly consumed by it, cutting us off from the things that really matter.

My original first sculptures were of Plaster of Paris that has formed the base canvas of the majority of the series and the moving over to a carved wood base for my later sculptures. I’ve chosen for a sculpted base to give the viewer a really life 3d perspective of what I am portraying and show the actually features in fine detail. With each of my sculpture I’ve use different techniques in creating detail upon each as well as create the visuals. Bladens sculpture Potato Bass Life-size (figure B) contains a lot of expressive colours but in a very realistic and natural manner. With myself being able to have this close encounter with my subject, as in figure C, because of it I’ve been able to depict the finer delicate details and add in hard expressive colour which portrays characteristics and the personality of these species, as well as adds unnoticed detail that gives a new perspective to the viewer, that is realistic, and very different from any other general realistic interpretation done, which is the primary idea of my whole series.
