Do you believe in Dracula? Many people would say no but if you were to ask those who have heard the name Vlad Dracul the third they’d tell you Dracula was a real man. Why? Vlad Dracul the third, born in 1431, soon became known as Vlad the Impaler due to his interesting methods of killing. It is thought that Vlads childhood and hatred for the Ottoman empire drove him to commit these methods of torture onto his enemies and slaves. Vlad was born in 1431, no exact month or date is said to be known. He grew up with three siblings named Radu, Vlad the second, and Mircea. They resided in a large castle said to be in transylvania itself. Their empire was said to be close with the Ottoman empire, however, Vlad’s father had to pay a price for this help and kindness the Ottomans gave. His sons were to be sold into the Ottomans empire. Once the deal was completed, the Ottomans locked Vlad and his brothers in a dungeon where they were living in their own bodily fluids.
