Hitler first sketched the Volkswagen Type One bug in a restaurant in Munich , Germany according to www.strange vehicles.greyfalcon.com. Hitler thought that all people should own a car so he decided to sketch out a car for the average family , the sketch was of what we know now as the Volkswagen Bug. The Design Hitler made was taken to Ferdinand Porsche a couple weeks after he perfected the design. Hitler told Ferdinand Porsche “Take it with you and speak with people who understand more about it then I do. But don't forget it. I want to hear from you soon about the technical details”. The original logo for the Bug was to have a swastika in the logo on the vehicle but it got removed and got a new one which is the same one as today. The Type One Bug was developed by Ferdinand Porsche. Porches decided what engine , transmission ,and rear end for the car. Porsche did have the cars made in some of his factories. These factories including Zuffenhausen , Wolfsburg , and Salzgitter Some of this factories were in fact ran by Hitler but that doesn't make the Bug a Nazi vehicle.
