Selling over 160 million albums and winning 24 Grammy Awards, Kanye West, also known by the alias “Ye” by many online, is known for his countless hit albums and platinum awards. He smashes records over and over again. Hip-Hop has been defined by competition for many years, even seeping so far into the music that artists create, these works of music are called “Diss Tracks”. Kanye's diss tracks on other artists such as his work “Like That (Remix)” have made his competition feel insignificant compared to him, because of this, Kanye West must be the best rapper in this modern age. Using his own life experiences, he continues to create great music that many people can relate to. Tying in his religious faith to albums such as Donda and Jesus is King, these songs glorify God and promote a life living in faith, a motive that many Saint John's Prep students feel also. …show more content…
In this album, Kanye steers away from his old style and adapts new techniques, using over-the-top production (Ryan) such as synthesizers and auto tune, creating an album that has his unique style within. Recently, with social media, one of his albums songs called “Carnival” has blown up, exploding to stardom and the number one spot on many lists and billboards. Within this modern era, we can see that any song can become popular using apps like TickTok. Kanye does a great job at navigating this change. Continuing with his unique style and hustle, Kanye has worked with other artists to collaborate and make incredible music. Some of these artists include John Legend, Jamie Foxx, Tyler, the creator, and Travis
