W.E.B. Du Bois falls under the historical lens of race due to the fact that he emphasized the need for black people to be politically recognized. Du Bois became a leader in the movement to win social justice for African Americans, and did all the he could in order to try and expand the civil rights movement for African Americans. In 1905 he would go on to gather a group of black leaders at Niagara falls and organized the Niagara movement, which sought to reinvigorate the abolitionist tradition. In this groups manifesto Du Bois expressed his beliefs that all born in America are born with their natural rights, regardless of skin color.
