According to Forbes.com article Top 10 Advantages of Waking up Early, a 2008 Texas University study revealed that college students who were “morning people” earned a full point higher on their GPA compared to the “night owls”. I would like school to start before 8:30 am for a number of reasons. One reason that going to school before 8:30 am is preparing me for work. Another reason is that it’ll help me be more responsible. The last reason is that I can get better sleep at night.

Getting up before 8:30 am will help me prepare for work. If I am required to get up 5 days a week, as a normal work week, I will be more prepared for the future. If school starts later than 8:30 am then I will not be as prepared as much as i should be for the future. …show more content…

Some people want school to start later because they believe their grades may drop because they’re still not completely alert. There has been tests done, and waking up early helps your grades, it does not hurt them. Going to school before 8:30 am would help me be more responsible as a person. It would help me be more responsible because I would have to get up and be ready and focus and I would be challenged to be responsible with different roles.

In conclusion, the last reason why I would want school to start before 8:30 am is because I could get a better sleep at night. Sleep experts say that people that go to bed earlier and wake up earlier, their bodies are more in tune with Earth’s circadian rhythms which offers more restorative sleep. I could go to bed earlier if school started earlier because school would be over at a decent time and I could go home and do what needs to be done at home, then I could get to sleep earlier. If school starts earlier, I could be well rested and i’d have to get up earlier and i could go to sleep earlier because I would have more time to get things done in the afternoon after school, therefore I would be ready for bed
