An insight gained As I started my journey in pursuing my Masters counseling, I never considered the potential role and or impact I could possibly have on social change. It was this course that opened my eyes to the possibilities of what I can do in the realm of helping others. The opportunities for me to give back and help are numerous. I guess I had tunnel vision, and was blind to what I can to do help. I recall reading Walden’s Mission and Vision statements as one of our assignments and various stories of former students who have made an impact in their field.
I was touched and inspired. I remember reading Walden vision statement and it speaks to helping students to focus and making a difference in the world by becoming a social change maker (Walden, 2015). It is an inspiring vision. It prompt me to think outside of the box, and consider what it is that I can do with my Masters

The one day off is solely for me to do what I want. It has helped me to better prepare for my assignments, and all the other life duties that we all have to deal with. In addition, making an attempt to have my weekly reading assignments completed is extremely helpful.
Strategies Used
Utilizing the learning center to enhance my scholarly writing and comprehension of the APA guidelines is beneficial. I also like the recent APA changes of no longer using the running head. Overall the writing center is an excellent tool.
What I take away from this course
This quarter has taught me a lot about perseverance, and my inner will to succeed. Since the beginning of 2016, I have been dealing with challenges and set-backs constantly. From a major family, personal family issues, to job related issues, to my own health issues, and most recently death I am still progressing. It has not been easy.
