A fundamental point of economics; trade happens because both people feel like they’re getting the better deal. This drives the decisions of everyday consumers when they take part economically. People making these decisions with Walmart is fundamentally good because they pay well, competition is not necessarily better, and globalization helps everyone. A job paying minimum wage not only sounds unatractive, it’s in many ways considered unlivable(5). A family of four requires about 17$ an hour between two people to live (5). Walmart pays their employees 13$ on average(1); the other parent can spend their time more efficiently, as they only require 4$ an hour left to reach bare minimum. Every aspect of their design aids them in making money. Employing blue to encourage trust, dependability, and strength(4); Paying their employees more, encouraging a better workforce(3); even driving out competition. Some say competition is necessary, but that is not an absolute truth, “Criticisms of Walmart’s effect on small retailers fall flat because of Americans’ role in that effect .”(3).
