Abstract I will be developing a compensation and benefits package for a departmental store. The company is Wal-Mart. Wal-mart is recognized for being one of the largest discount retailers in the world. It initially started out as a small chain of stores in suburban regions America. Walmart was envisioned by Samuel Walton; the founder, in 1962. The firm boasts of being one of the largest employers in US. Despite its success in the market, the organization has suffered a number of criticisms from various quarters, for carrying out some of its business operations with extremely low and uncompetitive prices. I will develop a comprehensive and competitive compensation and benefits package that will be used for this position upon hire. I will have a strategic plan for developing this employee compensation and benefits package. A strategic plan for employee compensation dictates the amount of pay we will to give our employee, also what type of employee you would like to attract and retain. Technically speaking, a comprehensive employee and benefits package should contain a number of aspects such as; reward programs, pay scales, company perquisites, and benefits packages among many others.
