Walmart’s Business Philosophy Walmart, founded by Sam Walton in 1962, is one of the world largest corporations by market capitalization and number of people working and reaching out to millions of consumers on a daily basis. There are more than 11,500 Walmart stores and Sam’s Club localities in about 28 markets globally and there are more than 2.2 million allies providing services for more than 260 million consumers per year. It is the largest grocery dealer in the United States with an assessed market share of around 20% of the retail grocery and consumables industries.
