Shaping my actions and thoughts, Disney has always been more than a few toys, picture books, or a good movie my family has gathered together to watch. From the time I turned five, Disney has been a hobby, an avocation, and sometimes an obsession. Disney’s’ characters and products enthrall me, its history fascinates me, and its' cultural power awes me. In particular, the theme park of Walt Disney World has had a significant impact on my life. Although it was many years and over 15 trips ago, I still recall my first family vacation to Walt Disney World and the Walt Disney World Campgrounds where we stayed as my senses felt alive with excitement and awe. The amenities that camping typically lacked were present at each campsite. Water hook-ups, cable television, built-in grills and picnic tables were all right there. The perfection of altered and simplified camping spread through the entire campground. There were excellent blacktop roads wide enough to accommodate walkers, bikers and cars, but still discreet enough to not feel like a concrete jungle. There were numerous pools and spas, very clean washing facilities and lush and manicured landscapes. Even when my eyes were closed, I continued to visualize as I dreamed of the sights I would see the next day. The visions which stay lodged in my memory to this
