To start it off, the studio that I have chosen to write about in my research paper is Walt Disney Studios. I choose this studio because as a kid growing up Walt Disney has been a big influential part of my life. With my parents working all day and night I had only films from Walt Disney to turn too. It made the time past by until they came home. Through this I’ve watched a lot of films that came out of this studio for example, Lion King, Pocahontas, Hercules, and Tarzan. I remember these were the first couple of animated films that I have watched and been exposed too. He found a distributor in New York and on October 16, 1923 that was the start of his company Walt Disney studios with his partner which was his brother Roy. After that he came up with another series hoping that it will do well and it will be recognized. He created a character named Oswald the Lucky Rabbit which did really well until he got screwed over by his distributor. From there on Walt learned his lesson and went back to the drawing board to figure out which other animated character he could make. With the help of his chief animator Ub Iwerks Walts created a new character called Mickey Mouse and over time he gave Micky Mouse personality and characteristics that would last a life time. This is the start of something big for Walt Disney Studios and it impacted the history of animations in a big way. The first Mickey Mouse cartoon that was revealed to the general public was Steamboat Wille with fully functional sound it was reveal in New York city and instantly fans and critics were raving over how good it was.
