Why has Disney been successful for so long? The main reason for Walt-Disney to be successful for a relatively long time is through diversification. By integrating and expanding into different business areas, not just simply licensing deals and agreements with distributors, Walt-Disney has created value for their business. This value made Disney on the right track of developing their other related business based on this theme park. There was also a good control over the entertainment experience of their theme park. They let their visitors to get a pure Disney experience where only Disney could have.This made Disney more unique to other competitors. They also made a good use of their global attraction. They expanded their theme park to Asia, Europe to let the people have access the park more easily. To maximize the profitability of the theme park, they put a large amount of money into creating new attractions such as the “Captain EO”. They also spent much money into the expansion of their new parks, such as investment in advertisement. The hotels operated by Disney also add value to their business. The size of theme park are so big that visitors would spends days in it. Having on-site resort hotel is the best solution for it. Visitors can spend more time in the theme park without traveling back and forth from hotel to the site. They slash down price and enhance their service to attract long stays and major conference.
