Disney is the number five in the Top Regarded Companies Disney was founded on 1923 by Walter Elias “Walt” Disney and his brother Roy co-founder of Walt Disney Productions. The chief executive officer is Robert A. Iger some other Executives are Christine M. McCarthy, Alan N. Braverman, also Mary Jayne Parker and at last but not least Kevin A. Mayer. It has about 195,000 Full time employees It has sales of $ 54.94 Billion Disney has number 39 in Worlds Best Employers. Disney operates through four business segments which are Media networks, Parks and Resorts, Studio Entertainment and Consumer Products and Interactive Media. The history of Disney is very interesting if you are interested in how Disney one of the top biggest company’s was created It all started with a 22 year old that lived in Kansas city, Missouri landed a contract with Margaret J. Winkler the first female animated film producer in 1993 this was the beginning of The Walt Disney Company back then known as Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio. In 1927 Walt and his Chief animator created their first animated cartoon character, Oswald the lucky Rabbit which is Disney’s most successful animation ever. In 1928 Walt traveled to meet a producer Charles Mintz because of financial struggles with the studio. Mintz ends up stealing Oswald and most of Disney’s animators. Disappointed Walt takes a train back home, during his ride he conceives the idea of Mortimer. His wife Lillian suggests a friendlier name “Mickey Mouse “which happens to be the most successful cartoon character in history. When Walt arrives back to the studio his animators start working on the details of Mickey Mouse. Steamboat Willie is released becoming the first animated film with synchronized sound effectively ending what was known as the “silent era”. In 1937 Walt Disney Released his full-Length feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
