His brother Roy got him a job at Pesmen-Rubin Art Studio. He met Ubbe Eert Iwwerks, a cartoonist who became a friend. Disney then worked at a Kansas City Film Ad Company, where he made commercials based on cut out animation. ("Walt Disney Biography.") Disney began experimenting with new techniques. He then decided to open his own business. Walt’s dreams, ambitions, and talent seemed to be coming together .Walt made a deal with a local Kansas City theater to show their cartoons, which they called Laugh-O-Grams. These cartoons were very popular! Mr. Disney was able to get his own studio which he also called Laugh-O-Grams. He hired Ub Iwerks. They did a few seven-minute fairy tales that used live action and animation. They called these Alice in Cartoonland. However, in 1923, the studio was in a lot of debt and Walter was forced to declare bankruptcy. Over the next five years, Walt Disney Studios made more full-length animated films like Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi.
