All Walt Disney wanted to do was “to fulfill children’s dreams and to create a visual for children to believe that dreams do come true if you only believe.” Walt Disney explored, expanded, and transformed the entertainment industry into what we know today. He pioneered the world of animation and found new ways to make life more enjoyable for millions of people. In Chicago, Illinois, on December 5, 1901, Walt Elias Disney was born to Elias and Flora Disney. Walt was one of five children, four boys and a girl. Shortly after Walt’s birth, the family moved to Marceline, Missouri, where he lived out most of his childhood. At a young age, Walt developed an interest in drawing and art. At seven, he sold sketches and drawings to neighbors. Walt’s dad subscribed to the Appeal to Reason newspaper and Walt practiced drawing the front page cartoons of Ryan Walker.
