Walt Disney has many names; Mr. Disney, Mickey Mouse, even Uncle Walt. The most commonly known nickname is, 'the man behind the magic'. This is a very deserving name, as everything he touched, he turned into a fantasy. Disney turned war into a children's cartoon, and an empty lot into a magical kingdom. This magical kingdom was Walt's lifetime goal, a fantasy which even he didn't always see as a reality. Walt Disney devoted his life to creating a place which children and adults alike would remember for years to come. Walt Disney also worked hard to become the number one entertainment studio in the nation. Disney achieved that goal as he has attained 32 academy awards in his career. He began his life in a small town in Missouri. Though he was close to his siblings Roy and Ruth, his much older brothers grew apart from him. His older brothers, Herbert and Raymond didn't like their father, Elias' family rules. These rules stated that any money earned by the family, went straight to Elias and Flora. Though these rules weren't unjustified, the family was slowly losing money the adults had to do what they could to stay on top. Herbert and Raymond ran away one day and the family didn't have much contact with them for years. Though, he saw much more of Ruth who was only two years younger than him. As a child, he was as much of a leader as he was as an adult. His younger sister, Ruth admired him greatly. She followed Walt everywhere, occasionally into trouble. This was easy to do on a 50 acre farm. One of their less troublesome activities, though, was drawing.
