Have you ever wondered who invented the renowned Mickey Mouse, or the famous Disney Company itself? That remarkable person would be known as Walt Disney. He founded renowned cartoon characters, from Mickey Mouse to Donald Duck. Walt Disney is one of the most well-known people in the media and entertainment industry – due to his one-of-a-kind films. Even though Walt had to struggle to achieve his goals, he still was nominated for an astonishing 59 Academy Awards, winning 22 awards. Walt Disney was the illustrious media magnet that practically any person could recognize in a crowd. On December 5, 1901, in Chicago, the legendary Disney was born. Although Walt was disallowed to join the army for being too young, he soon volunteered to enlist in the Red Cross in 1918. In search of a job, Disney went back to Kansas City where he luckily got a few different jobs, but none of them compared to his favorite job in the film industry. Kansas City Film Ad Company were doing outstandingly well, which allowed Disney to start operating in the fairly inexperienced world of animation. He soon started work on Alice’s Wonderland. Although the brothers made little money that first year, they were confident, and with his typical optimism, Walt promised to his father that the name “Disney” would be known all around the world. “Walt Disney had finally gotten what he deserved all along, and got and Academy Award for Best short subject: Cartoons for the three colored ‘Flowers and Trees’ He also received a special Academy Award for Mickey Mouse (“Walt Disney Biography”).” Later that year, Walt had established his most successful cartoon of all his time ‘The Three Little Pigs’ (1933) with the well-known song ‘whose afraid of the Big Bad Wolf”. Disney’s most impressive project had begun creation in 1924. He was determined to create a full-length animated feature film of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.’ Practically everyone around Walt discouraged him to go through with it – thinking it would be a “commercial failure”. But, Disney was stubborn and wouldn’t give up until he made it, and with that determination he had created a film that was greeted with lustrous and unpredicted evaluations.
