To date, the well-known film company Walt Disney has directed and produced over 145 unique and compelling movies. From the 2022 film Turning Red all the way back to the 1928 short Steamboat Willie, Walt Disney has been providing the public with magic and entertainment for decades. Though, many do not realize how the Walt Disney Company came to be as successful as it is. The one to thank for these unforgettable films is the man behind it all – Walter Elias Disney.

Alongside his brother Roy, Walt founded Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in October of 1923, which would later be renamed Walt Disney Productions. The pair found their beginnings to be located in Hollywood, a place that highly supported the American film industry. The enormous success of both Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and the comical shorts known as Alice Comedies gave rise to the 1928 short Steamboat Willie. This was the first time the world was introduced to the character that would go down in history; Mickey Mouse. As the public enjoyed these films more and more, Walt believed that he could successfully make his first feature film. It required an entire team of over 300 different film production employees to work effortlessly for three years. Shortly before the end of December 1937, the company released its first full-length film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The company only took off running since then, releasing hundreds of individually unique full-length films and shorts. After Walter’s passing in 1966, his legacy continued to live and Walt Disney Productions adopted many more film enterprises. Walter Disney himself never gave up on the direction that he wanted his company to go, and never gave in to any bumps along the way. Growing from an abusive home, to suddenly going bankrupt was not easy to bear in any way. Though, Walt continued to push toward the life he had always dreamt of which led to his eventual accomplishments. He built a team full of people who put their hearts into developing intriguing and enjoyable films for all the public to enjoy. The entire service of the company was produced by one man who decided to keep expanding on his talent. It was produced by a remarkable team who shared the interests of Walt Disney, and created masterpieces using a camera and their imaginations. This astounding group of people produced these films to be entertaining for all ages, and family-friendly for younger audiences. The continuation of the Walt Disney Company expanded into many more popular products and services that consumers still adore to this day. From resorts and theme parks, all the way to toys and games revolving around their characters, the name Disney is known and loved worldwide. Another key component in the success of this enterprise was the supporting factor of the many other animation and film corporations that the Walt Disney Company bought.
