There were several reasons as to what caused this war to begin. Let 's go back to the year of 1806 when France declared it to be illegal for “all neutral trade with Great Britain”
The War of 1812 and the urge that the War Hawks had to declare war on Britain caused social, political, and geographical changes between the years 1812 to 1815. The War Hawks were a group of pro-war Jeffersonian Republicans. Since the War Hawks were pro-war, they strongly advised Congress to declare war on Britain in 1812. It has been proven that when the time came to vote, most states voted in support of war. Most people voted in support of the war because of the War Hawks.

Then a peace treaty was signed by James Madison on December 24, 1814, but the fighting ceased January 8, 1815. British began the practice of impressing American citizens and navy ships. For a six year period to 1810, Great Britain had impressed thousands of U.S. mariners.
The war of 1812 is often called the “2nd American Revolution” because it was the second time we fought Britain. However, the sentiment could be farther from the truth. America fought the war of 1812 really just because of trade and impressment, the British Orders in Council, and Britain’s incitement of Indian warfare on America’s western frontier.

However, this did not stop the will of the slaves to escape, but made it a risky choice for them to take. This act allowed many people to be on the watch for slaves. Even those in the North would tell on an escaped slave.
The war of 1812 is important because the United States has won most of its wars often emerging with sinfigantes concessions from the enemy. But the War of 1812 was different. The Treaty of Ghent (which ended the conflict) said nothing about the maritime issues that had caused the war and contained nothing to suggest that America had achieved its aims. The reason I picked it is because I did not know much about it and because I did not want to waits all calls trying to pick a topic. What I already know about the war of 1812 is after the Americans declared their independence, there was open conflict between the American colonies and Great Britain.
