World War 1(WW1) is one of the most bloodstained, unpleasant, wide-spread, and history-altering war ever to occur in human history. Many people know this, however, many are not aware of the important factors which impacted the Great War. One such factor is the sinking of the British Ocean Liner Lusitania, a passenger ship stacked with hundreds of civilians seeking a retreat through a vacation. The sinking of the Lusitania was a significant occurrence because it impacted the American public’s opinion significantly, which in result influenced the Great War. Hence, it is imperative one understands the role the Lusitania played during the Great War.

The battle of the Merrimack and Monitor was a very important battle that changed the face of the U.S. Navy to how we see it today. It was the “battle of Hampton Roads aka the battle of the Ironclads” and the battle took place near Hampton Roads,Virginia. So how did the battle of the merrimack and monitor specifically change the face of Naval Warfare? The battle of hampton roads, some would say it was a victory for the Merrimack(south) but then others could say that it was a tie for the two ironclads.

In The Naval War of 1812, Roosevelt aims to craft the complete unbiased work on the naval combat between the United States of America and Great Britain from 1812-1815. When it was published in 1883 it became an instant sensation in the academic world.
During the time of the Civil War, the U.S. Navy had just gotten a new ship the USS Monitor. This ship was not the same type of ship as the others they had. They were used to wooden vessels, and the USS Monitor was an iron steamship. The book Iron Coffin: War, Technology, and Experience aboard the USS Monitor written by David A. Mindell shows what it was like to have to get accustomed to the new ship and the conflicts faced because of people’s thoughts on new technology.
German submarines were a war machine created by germans and were introduced for the first time in WWI. These underwater ships were used to destroy British ships in World War I. They are also one of the main reasons that the United States was brought into the war. U-Boats were a very useful tactic used by the Germans in WWI. They destroyed many US merchant ships and sunk over 430 US neutral or allied ships totaling up to 852,000 tons.
World War II ended over fifty years ago, but many people still have misconceptions about the Germans. In fact, many people are ready to assume that every German during World War II was a Nazi during World. But history cannot be fully explained with one point of view, one statement. It is so much more complicated and intricate than that. At the very start of the war, there were already so many assumptions about Germans.
One of the most amazing naval victories to ever occur was the American victory at Midway. Four Japanese carriers were lost in comparison to the one carrier lost by the Americans, and thousands of Japanese were dead compared to around three hundred dead Americans. Midway island defended against a massive Japanese fleet, compared to the American fleet. The United States Navy trapped Japanese forces at Midway and caused the most decisive battle in its history. Midway Island played more of an important role in the Pacific campaign than anyone could have known.
During World War I many changes were occurring in the United States. The War also marked the start of new ideas and concepts that would deeply affect the War and the outcome of it. Three things that strongly affected the United States and their participation in the war are; propaganda, technology, and warfare. Propaganda was not used as much until World War I. Propaganda was used as a weapon by the United states. The use of propaganda was used as a tactic to encourage the war.

This happens due to invisibility from ships, submarines were very popular and widely used by many countries. Although naval battles were mostly ships, submarines had the upper hand for many reasons.
