Title: Francisco Pizarro: Definitely a Villain
Introduction
Francisco Pizarro was born sometime around the year 1475. He was born in the the town of Trujillo in the Spanish province of Extremadura. Pizarro was the Illegitimate son of Colonel Gonzalo Pizarro and a peasant woman. Pizarro’s father didn't perceive him as of having no importance and he lived with his mother’s family. His mother’s family made him a swineherd, which was a respectable job for a commoner. Pizarro had no education at all his entire life(Explorers and Discoveries). When he reached the age of manhood in his town, he had to choose between becoming a soldier or a farmer. Even though Pizarro’s soldiers were outnumbered they still won. The Incas were also amazed by the soldiers that were riding horses. They had never seen anything like it, and were in awe. On the website, “The Mariners Museum and Park,” the author writes, “His capture and execution of the Inca ruler lead to the end of the Inca empire. While this was a proud achievement to him, today we understand that this was an unfortunate event that wiped out an entire culture. The enslavements and death from Spanish diseases, caused the native population to decline by millions over the course of a few decades,”(Francisco Pizarro).
