Hawaii was ruled by many chiefs until defeated all the chiefs controlling islands. Kamehameha was hidden by his parents because one of the high chiefs thought that if he was born the blood of chiefs would fall down water streams. Later, his uncle Kalaniopu’u adopted him and raised him as his own son. Kekuhaupi’o adopted taught Kamehameha how to be strong and made Kamehameha a skilled warrior. Kamehameha was an effective leader because he was intelligent ,was a responsible person, and was good with trading with foreigners. Kamehameha was an effective leader because he was intelligent. He was responsible because he made himself administrator. He made restless chiefs near his court and put trustworthy governors on various islands like John Young and Ka’eokulani because Kamehameha trusted John Young and knew that Ka’eokulani was a person that knew Kau’i .This was something that changed because in the early hawaiian days there was no administrator to control all islands. This was good because if he did not put governors on islands he would have to watch all the islands.
